Sen. Pat Roberts, R-Kansas, gave a Senate Finance Committee hearing a little jolt Thursday, when his cellphone rang and started belting out Disney’s “Frozen” theme song.
Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack was in the middle of testifying when — just as he was concluding a minutes-long answer on food safety regulations — “Let It Go” rang through the chamber.
Roberts scrambled for his phone before grumbling “Oooh, come on” into his microphone.
After a round of laughter from the audience at the hearing, the 78-year-old Republican responded, shrugging, “Just let it go.”
“Sorry about that,” Roberts said before trying to continue the hearing. “I know my time is up, I apologize to my colleagues.”
Roberts later took to Twitter to explain away the ringtone:
Somebody had to tell the Obama Administration to “Let it go.” #forthegrandkids
