Hillary Clinton is one of the most famous politicians in the world and is the front-runner to win the Democratic nomination for president.
That still didn’t move her to the front of the line at a Chipotle in Maumee, Ohio.
Clinton, wearing a bright pink shirt and sunglasses, popped into the Chipotle at the Toledo suburb Monday and went largely unnoticed, according to news reports.
A New York Times reporter, tipped off that Clinton had stopped, called the restaurant’s manager, who insisted the reporter must be mistaken. He reviewed the restaurant’s security video … and there she was, ordering a chicken burrito bowl.
“The thing is, she has these dark sunglasses on,” manager Charles Wright tells the Times. “She just was another lady.”
Wright tells the Times that employees didn’t recognize Clinton and are “kicking themselves right now.” And although Wright is a Republican, he’s also upset he had a chance to meet the former first lady, U.S. Senator and secretary of state.
“That’s awesome that she was in here,” Wright said
Clinton and a small staff traveled in black GMC van from New York to her first campaign event in Monticello, Iowa, CNN reports, with Maumee’s Chipotle being one of her stops along the way.
