Irwin Horwitz said he reached “breaking point”

A professor at Texas A&M University in Galveston informed an entire class in a blistering email that they would all receive a failing grade for the semester.

Management professor Irwin Horwitz wrote in the email that he had reached a “breaking point” with his students, NBC local affiliate KPRC reports, and that their behavior was the worst he had seen in 20 years of teaching.

“I was dealing with cheating, dealing with individuals swearing at me both in and out of class, it got to the point that the school had to put security guards at that class and another class,” Horwitz wrote in a mass email to his Strategic Management class.

Several shocked students protested the collective grading scheme and university officials told KPRC that they would overturn the professor’s decision.
